A word about Lake Ledro OperaTour 7nts Aug 25 Sep 01 The Italian lake district is located in the very north of Italy close to the Swiss border and just south of the Alps. Blessed with a location on the sunny side of the Alps the lake enjoys many sun filled days. The plants here are very Mediterranean. An ideal location for a few days rest, not far from Verona or Milan approx 1 hour and a half away.
Resort: Lake Ledro lies in Trentino a northern region of Italy, to the west of Lake Garda. The hotel is in an Alpine village on the northern shore of the lake. The lake and valley (Lago di Ledro and Valle di Ledro) are surrounded by magnificent forested alpine peaks. Lake Garda is located 8 miles away from Lake Ledro, whilst one hour and a half away is the old city of Verona, famous for its Arena and open-air operas, (from last week in June to end of August), home to Romeo & Juliet balcony.
Opera tickets:are subject to availability and should be confirmed at the time of booking your holiday. The cost of the ticket is not included in the cost of the holiday. 50% of the ticket price is required when booking the opera. The deposit for the ticket is non -refundable, even in the event that you should cancel your holiday. The transport to the OPERAS is included in the price of the holiday. Day 1 Departure Arrive Cairo International Airport you will be met by our representative and transfer to the Zoser Hotel. You stay three nights at this hotel which is situated close to the Pyramids at Giza, to begin your journey into Egyptian history and culture.
Day 2 Cairo Sightseeing Following breakfast your guide will collect you at your hotel at a pre arranged time we visit the Citadel, the Sultan Hassan Mosque and Mohammed Ali's Alabaster Mosque with its highly decorated and ornate interior. In old Cairo we visit the Hanging Church of St. Mary above the Water Gate. You will have lunch and dinner this evening near the Pyramids area. (B.L.D)
Day 3 November Cairo / Luxor After breakfast, we drive to nearby Giza; its landscape dominated by the Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mycerius and by the Sphinx, there will be time to explore inside one of the Pyramids an awesome experience. We will also visit Memphis and Sakkara. (B)
Day 4 Nile Cruise Breakfast at your leisure, this is a free day to follow your own pursuits , perhaps enter the bustle of Cairo, the greatest metropolis of the Middle East, explore the highlights of Islamic Cairo, take lunch and spend the afternoon at the Egyptian Museum, as see the fabulous jewels of King Tutankhamon. Day 5 Luxor An early morning wake up call to catch your 5:00 flight to Luxor, on arrival you will be met and transferred to your Nile Cruise boat MS. Emilio on full board basis and which will become your floating hotel. Later we visit the Temple of Luxor, which dominates the town, also, a visit to the gigantic temple complex of Luxor. We will marvel at the remains of the amazing Avenue of the Sphinx, which once stretched between the Temples of Karnak and Luxor. We return to our cruise ship with time to rest before dinner. (B.L.D)
Day 6 Luxor Today's highlight is a visit to the Valley of the Kings, secluded in the Theban Hills, it is where the New Kingdom pharaohs were buried in dramatically shafted tombs built into the hillsides, we visit the Temple of Medinet Habou and then on to the breathtaking Deir el-Bahri, Queen Hatshepsut's impressive temple. We return to the ship and sail for Edfu. (B.L.D)
Day 7 Edfu - Kom Ombo This morning we visit Edfu to see Egypt's best preserved cult temple, which was dedicated to the falcon god Horus. We continue our tranquil cruise along the Nile arriving at Kom-Ombo. Here relax on deck and watch primitive villages on the banks of the river glide by. They have changed little in a thousand years.(B.L.D)
Day 8 Aswan After breakfast we explore the High Dam, than a visit to the Temple of Isis on the island of Philae and the massive Unfinished Obelisk laying in the granite quarries nearby, we return to the cruise ship for the lunch, remainder of the day is free to explore Aswan on your own, dinner this evening on board.
Day 9 Aswan - Abu Simbel - Cairo After breakfast we disembark our Nile Cruiser and transfer to Aswan Airport for our one hour flight to Abu Simbel to view the Sun Temple of Abu Simbel, franked by 4 giant stone statues of Ramses. The temple was reclaimed from the dam and reconstructed in its present and unforgettable location. We return to Aswan and transfer to a flight for Cairo. This evening a farewell dinner on a floating restaurant.
Day 10 Cairo - Departure After breakfast, we bid farewell to this unforgettable country and transfer to Cairo International Airport for your departing flight home. (B)
